Curve Studio to Develop School Area in Sætre, Notodden

As part of the new school structure in Notodden municipality, Curve Studio has been engaged to explore how existing and new outdoor areas can be optimally arranged at Sætre Primary School and Notodden Secondary School.

The two schools are currently located next to each other and both have somewhat inadequate outdoor areas. The recently adopted school structure involves merging two secondary schools at Sætre. Additionally, the existing primary school at Sætre will receive more students, and the area will be expanded by utilizing more existing buildings and outdoor spaces.

The total student population for the primary and secondary schools will be up to 800 students, with 350 at the primary school and 450 at the secondary school. The planning process began in the fall of 2024, and efforts are now underway to find good comprehensive solutions for the area. Not least, the schools' outdoor areas will play a key role in making a difference for the many future students. We are excited to contribute our expertise in placemaking for children and young people to the project.
