Curve Studio Appointed Community Engagement Lead for Storavatnet Park and Recreation Area

Curve Studio has been appointed as the community engagement lead for the development of the Storavatnet Park and Recreation Area in Bergen, Norway. Commissioned by the City of Bergen's Agency for Urban Environment, the assignment includes planning, facilitating, and managing stakeholder engagement throughout all phases of the project's development.

Storavatnet is one of Bergen's largest and most complex park developments in the coming years. A new park and recreation area will be created on reclaimed land formed from surplus rock generated during the construction of the Sotra Link infrastructure project. The ambition is to create a destination that combines recreation, nature experiences, climate resilience, and enhanced biodiversity.

As the project's community engagement lead, Curve Studio will facilitate an open and inclusive dialogue with local residents, community organisations, and key stakeholder groups. Children and young people, neighbourhood residents, and local voluntary organisations will play a particularly important role in shaping the future of this public space. The project will build on previous planning work while revisiting priorities and design solutions to reflect current knowledge of nature, climate, demographic needs, and the aspirations of the local community.

We look forward to contributing our expertise in community engagement and place-making, ensuring that local knowledge and community aspirations become a central part of delivering an important new green space for the people of Bergen.
